Tri-S Environmental Services has been a leader in the transportation of friable and non-friable asbestos waste. Serving the Northeast for more than 15 years we offer live loading as well as staging of containers at your job site.

Tri-S drivers are trained in the safe and proper handling, packaging and labeling of all regulated wastes. Loaded containers/vehicles are locked at all times assuring the integrity of your load.

Transportation activities are documented at every step utilizing proper waste manifests. Contractors are provided with fully executed legal waste manifests to close out their projects.

All transportation and disposal services are in full compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations.
Transportation of asbestos (designated as a hazardous material for transportation) is regulated by the U.S. Department of transportation (DOT). The DOT has requirements for shipping documents, packaging, labeling, and vehicle placarding. Asbestos must be loaded, handled and unloaded in a manner that will minimize occupational exposure to airborne asbestos fibers released during transit.

Requires that transporters carry identification papers for all quantities of asbestos greater than 1 pound. The state police enforce this requirement.

Regulates transportation of asbestos waste under title 49, section 173.1090.
